PAXSON
RESTORATION STUDIO

ABOUT
The studio specializes in the care and repair of books, documents, and artwork on paper. Whether preserving a family heirloom or stabilizing a rare collection, our goal is to ensure that meaningful objects can be safely handled, studied, and appreciated for years to come.
Drawing on backgrounds in archival practice and collections management, our work is informed by years spent caring for rare and vulnerable materials in institutional settings, as well as in the studio. We have completed projects for museums, universities, and private clients, approaching each object with careful attention to its history, structure, and intended use.
Our expertise reflects both academic work and hands-on practice, including graduate study in library science and archives management, five years of apprenticeship under an established conservator in the Kansas City area, and hundreds of hours of bench training with bookbinders and conservators across the United States and abroad.
